Comfort House Child Advocacy Center

The Comfort House provides support and advocacy to children who are alleged victims of abuse and neglect in Brooke and Hancock County. The Comfort House provides forensic interviews or structured conversations to elicit detailed information about possible events. The clean, comfortable, and kid-friendly environment appeals to children of all ages and aims to accommodate family schedules. The Comfort House also provides community prevention programs, specialized training, and advocacy services for victims and their families.

Domestic Violence Programs

CHANGE, Inc. operates a Domestic Violence Awareness Center, the Lighthouse Domestic Violence Shelter, and a Domestic Violence Transitional House. Services include confidential support counseling, safety planning, 24-hour safe shelter, long-term shelter housing, community education, and legal advocacy.
