Supportive Services for Veteran Families

What We Do

The SSVF Program is designed to improve the housing stability of very low-income Veteran families, by assisting families transitioning from homelessness to permanent housing and preventing at-risk families from becoming homeless.

Services We Provide

CHANGE Inc. will provide eligible families with outreach, case management, and assistance obtaining VA and other benefits, which may include:

  • Health Care Services
  • Daily Living Services
  • Child Care Services
  • Transportation Services
  • Temporary Financial Assistance
  • Fiduciary & Payee Service
  • Legal Service
  • Personal Financial Planning Services

How To Receive Service

  • Must be a veteran or a member of a family in which the head of household, or the spouse of the head of household is a Veteran.
  • Very low income: household income can not exceed 50% of the area median income.
  • Occupying permanent housing in one of three categories:
    1. Residing in permanent housing,
    2. Homeless and scheduled to become a resident of permanent housing within 90 days, OR
    3. Has exited permanent housing within the previous 90 days to seek other housing that is responsive to the very-low income Veteran family’s needs and preferences.
  • Must be a resident of Hancock, Brooke, Ohio, Marshall, Wetzel, Tyler, Doddridge, Ritchie, or Pleasants Counties.
